"Pannazzaro" si faceva chiamare. Erano i tempi di Piazza Mercato a Napoli, la bolgia infernale di negozi che vendevano di tutto, all'ingrosso, al minuto, come capitava. Gianni Punzo ha ancora il suo cuore di mercante radicato in quella piazza. Oggi che il suo "sistema Nola" lo ha reso forse uno degli imprenditori più influenti del sud Italia, in pochi ricordano la sua strepitosa carriera, che ha avuto il suo lancio ufficiale nel 1986, benedetto da Bettino Craxi in persona. La bolgia di Piazza Mercato venne trasferita a una ventina di chilometri, alle porte della città vesuviana di Nola, poco più di trentamila abitanti.
